The Identity Taxonomy for Agentic AI.

Six domains. One per protocol layer. The complete branded naming layer for the agent identity standards stack.

One domain per protocol layer — no gaps, no overlaps — offered only as a set.
Agent-Claw.com
Consumer Namespace · Brand Anchor

The hyphen mirrors the [role]-[identity] token delimiter used throughout OpenClaw and NemoClaw documentation — machine-readable by design. The consumer-facing brand anchor for the taxonomy.

ClawSSI.com
Architecture · Self-Sovereign Identity

The W3C-standardised foundation: Decentralised Identifiers, Verifiable Credentials, a decade of standards work. The architectural parent of the entire stack — identity for non-human actors begins here.

ClawNHI.com
Enterprise Security · Non-Human Identity

The category NIST’s NCCoE concept paper is actively defining. Comment period closed 2 April 2026; Q4 2026 AI Agent Interoperability Profile targeted. The compliance entry point for enterprise security buyers.

ClawAIP.com
Runtime Identity · Agent Identity Protocol

Two competing IETF drafts filed in March 2026. The first, draft-aip-agent-identity-protocol-00, co-authored by Carlos Arango Gutierrez of Nvidia — a named Mag 7 engineer on the standards track. AIP bridges the Model Context Protocol and Agent-to-Agent protocol layers: the interoperability seam where the agent ecosystem needs identity most.

Hardware Attestation · Prove-Transform-Verify

IETF draft filed 5 April 2026 within the RATS working group. PTV extends OAuth 2.0 and FIDO2 with zero-knowledge attestation for agent compute environments — the layer that makes agent identity cryptographically anchored to hardware root of trust rather than merely declared.

ClawANS.com
Discovery · Agent Name Service

The DNS of the agentic economy. ENS is to wallets what ANS will be to autonomous agents — the naming and routing layer that scales agent-to-agent discovery from thousands to millions.

Why Now

IETF Agent Identity Protocol — Two competing drafts in March 2026. The first co-authored by a Nvidia engineer (Carlos Arango Gutierrez); the second from an independent implementer eleven days later. Standards-body velocity on AIP is accelerating faster than any other layer.

IETF Prove-Transform-Verify — Draft filed 5 April 2026 in the RATS working group. Hardware attestation for agent identity now has its own standards-track workstream.

NemoClaw reached general availability on 18 March 2026, with a 12-vendor coalition including Cisco, Salesforce, SAP, CrowdStrike, and Databricks.

DefenseClaw shipped on GitHub on 27 March 2026, as the centrepiece of Cisco’s RSAC 2026 keynote.

NIST’s NCCoE concept paper on AI agent identity and authorisation closed for public comment on 2 April 2026. Q4 2026 AI Agent Interoperability Profile targeted.

Ping Identity shipped “Identity for AI” GA on 24 March 2026 — the NHI enterprise vendors are in production.

OpenClaw has surpassed 346,000 GitHub stars. Acquired by OpenAI in February 2026. The originating brand is now owned by the originating company.

The Lobster Defensive Companion

Six domains mirroring the Claw taxonomy across five protocol layers plus a consumer brand. Not a separate listing — the defensive companion to the Claw apex. Structured as a near-frictionless second close for the same buyer.

Any acquirer of the Claw taxonomy needs to neutralise the parallel mascot-brand flank before a competitor registers it. The Lobster stack closes that vulnerability.
